Description

Masikkai (Podi) is useful in wound healing due to its antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties. It reduces the risk of skin infection due to its antibacterial property. It also has an astringent property that constricts the skin cells or tissues and helps in skin tightening.

♦  Piles : Piles are known as Arsh in Ayurveda. It is mainly caused by an unhealthy diet and sedentary lifestyle and leads to the impairment of all the three doshas, mainly Vata. An aggravated Vata causes a low digestive fire, leading to constipation.

♦  Hyperpigmentation : Masikkai  is useful to reduce the symptoms of hyperpigmentation. Hyperpigmentation is caused by an aggravation of Pitta dosha in the body when the skin is exposed to heat or the sun. Majuphal helps in reducing tanning and pigmentation due to its Ropan (healing) property and Sita (cold) nature.

♦  Inflamed gums : Masikkai  can be used to treat swollen, spongy and bleeding gums. It has a Kashaya (astringent) property that reduces swelling and controls bleeding. It also produces a cooling and soothing effect on the gums due to its Sita (cold) nature.

♦  Leucorrhea : Masikkai  helps to control the symptoms of leucorrhea when used internally. Leucorrhea is a thick, whitish discharge from the female genitals. According to Ayurveda, leucorrhea is due to an imbalance of Kapha dosha. Masikkai (Podi) shows a good result in leucorrhea because of its Kashaya (astringent) property. It helps to control aggravated Kapha and reduce the symptoms of leucorrhea.
