♦ Nilavembu is also called as siriyanangai, it is a Siddha herb that helps to cure many diseases.
♦ It is commonly known as “King Of Bitter” in English. Nila means soil and vembu means soil, it defines the herb that grows close to the soil. Andrographis paniculata is an erect plant with a height of 30–110 cm.
♦ Its stem is slender dark green, square in cross-section with longitudinal furrows and wings along with the angles.
♦ The lance-shaped leaves of this herb have the hairless blades, it measuring up to 8 cm length and 2.5 cm width.
♦ The small flower of this herb is borne in spreading racemes.
♦ The fruits of this herb are in capsule size, its length is 2 cm and a few mm width.
